Villa Restaurant and Pizzeria in Eastpointe offers a straightforward, welcoming spot for those looking to settle into a classic Italian dining experience without the fuss. Located on Gratiot Avenue, this restaurant feels like a longtime neighborhood staple where families and local regulars come for familiar, hearty dishes and a laid-back atmosphere.

The interior manages to strike a balance between cozy and roomy. You’ll notice a warm, lived-in vibe brought out by colorful artwork and vintage touches, making it an easy place to relax whether you’re dropping in for a casual meal or a slightly more leisurely dinner. It’s not the kind of place that rushes you — it invites you to unwind and enjoy the rhythms of an authentic Italian kitchen.

The menu reflects that homey authenticity with crowd-pleasers like Chicken Parmesan, Fettuccine Alfredo, and a variety of pasta combos featuring classics such as ravioli, manicotti, and gnocchi dishes. For pizza enthusiasts, the round, thin-crust pepperoni pizza is a frequent pick, though they also offer the regional Detroit-style square pizza for those curious about local pizza traditions. Many visitors appreciate the balance of sauces and freshness, though a touch of seasoning might be a personal tweak for some dishes.

Service here tends to be attentive without feeling overbearing. Staff are accommodating, which shows clearly when they stay welcoming even close to closing time. The dining experience often draws people who appreciate a quieter early evening or off-peak lunch, as those tend to be more relaxed with space to sit comfortably.

Those who enjoy pairing their Italian meal with a modest selection of draft beers like Labatt Blue or Bud Light will find reasonable choices. The cocktail program isn’t extensive but offers a nice touch with drinks like martinis and carmel appletinis, complementing the meal without stealing the spotlight. For dessert, traditional items like cannoli and spumoni ice cream bring a familiar finish to the table.

Overall, Villa Restaurant and Pizzeria serves well for anyone craving straightforward, authentic Italian fare in a setting that feels more like visiting an old friend’s place than a bustling chain. It fits well into the Eastpointe community, appealing to locals who value consistent, home-style cooking and an unpretentious environment. Visiting during less busy times, such as early afternoons or just before typical dinner hours, often means a quieter dining experience to really appreciate the food and hospitality.

Really enjoyed our time here. The service was attentive, pleasant and friendly. The dinning area feels personal but spacious. Their in-house salad dressing is hands down the best dressing I have ever had and will purchase some to have at home. It is well worth it. Overall the food we had was good. I had to add a little salt to some of the dishes but I was completely satisfied with all that we tried and would order them again, although I want to try the pizza next time. We look forward to our next visit.

We got there 30 minutes before closing and they were so gracious to us and the food was amazing! Will definitely be back!! Such a gem so close to Grosse Pointe if you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine!

The Villa Restaurant in Eastpointe is a staple that has been serving up authentic Italian dishes to Eastsiders for generations. We arrived in the early afternoon on a Sunday so it wasn’t too busy. The restaurant's decor is cozy and warm with lots of interesting trinkets and vibrant artwork throughout the restaurant. Our friendly, attentive waitress got us started with some beverages and a basket of bread (and bread sticks!) while we looked over the menu. I love those thick, crunchy sesame encrusted breadsticks! YUM!! (cold, hard butter pats...boo!) It didn’t take long for us to decide what we wanted to order. I started with a cup of their minestrone soup. The soup was a little brothier than I like, but it had a nice flavor and there was a lot of pasta, beans and veggies hiding at the bottom of the cup. It had a fresh, homemade taste. My entree came with a house salad. I spent 3 extra bucks to upgrade it to their antipasto salad. Slices of cured meats and cheese and a few black olives were set on top of a crispy, cold salad. Their salad dressing is served on the side of the salad in a cute glass carafe. The dressing is really good. It’s a smooth, creamy Italian dressing that has the perfect balance of spices, sweetness and vinegar. It’s a little runny so it easily coats every nook and cranny of the salad. YUM. I ate that whole salad!! For my entree I ordered ‘Tony’s Trio’. It came with baked lasagna, chicken parmesan and pasta alfredo. The lasagna was served piping hot in a small crock. The lasagna was thick layers of meat, noodles and cheese. It was very good. The tomato sauce was a little on the mild side. The chicken parmesan was a thin, breadcrumb-coated chicken breast that was fried to perfection. The meat was juicy and the crust was crispy! It was topped with a dollop of their tomato sauce and covered with cheese. The cheese was broiled and served gooey, slightly brown and bubbly. It was very good. I wish it had been set on top of a little serving of spaghetti because it seemed so lonely just sitting there on the platter. The pasta alfredo was a little disappointing. The fettuccine noodles were tossed in a creamy, cheesy garlic sauce. The sauce is very creamy, actually it's a little runny. It wasn’t as cheesy or garlicky as I expected it to be. The overwhelming flavor of the sauce was cream. I smothered mine in parmesan cheese and black pepper which amped up the flavor quite a bit! Unfortunately the pasta alfredro was not hot. I was looking forward to this part of the trio the most and I was bummed it lacked flavor and HEAT! Overall I enjoyed my dinner at the Villa Restaurant. The ambience was warm and nostalgic. Look at the picture of the bill! It’s screaming 1980! Although I could have tolerated a little more garlic in my dishes, I won’t complain! The food tasted authentic and was delicious! At these prices, I would definitely go back.

Came here on a Saturday night about an hour and a half before they closed. WOW!!! I am so happy I came here! The atmosphere is so charming. The calamari was some of the best I’ve ever had. We got it with marinara sauce instead of cocktail sauce and that was a great choice. The chicken Parmesan was the best I’ve had around Detroit so far. I was blown away. The bread was warm, the house wine was yummy, and the sauce was perfect. I was a little less impressed by the pizza, but I’m still glad I tried it. (I just think the dough could use a bit more salt). The chicken noodle soup was also good as a side - it looks plain but the flavor was really good. Overall this was a GREAT dining experience and it really hit the spot without breaking the bank :) everything together was $45.

I got the vegetarian pizza.I was very disappointed. It didn't hit the mark for me or my son. Every friday we get vegetarian pizza from different restaurants. This one was highly recommended. Maybe their regular pizza is better, but it didn't hit the mark with us.

If you want a place place with good Italian food that is homemade, this is the place. The cheese sticks and cheese bread came out nice and gooy, the lasagna is a big portion, meat ravioli was cooked amazingly, and the pizza, omg. The perfect amount of toppings and cheese, with a nice sweet and crunchy crust.
